PHOTOGRAPHY
INSTRUCTION
Like all courses I teach, when successfully
completed, the result is a PADI certification in
Underwater Photography. The PADI underwater photography specialty
course can be completed in one day. I’ve found that to be satisfactory to
some who just want to 'try it and see'. However, most want a little more
content and find a second day of value. So I’ve developed a two-day course, and also a
three-day and a four-day course to give you the flexibility and time you
need or want to meet your goals. See the matrix below for a
description, schedule, content, materials and costs.
As always, feel free to contact me for
additional information or clarification or if you have a specific learning
objective. Some of my photographic kudos are:
- Graduate of the Nikon Photo Pro Course
offered by Stephen Frink
- Provided technical assistance to
Vogue/Fitness Magazine
- Grand prize winner of Stingray City
shoot-out in Grand Cayman
- Published in Skin Diver Magazine
- Published in Florida Scuba News
- Many images published on the world wide
web
- Published in “Canaries of the Reef”, a
television documentary
- Provided technical support to NHK
Productions (video) Tokyo
- Provided safety and support diving
services to Paramount Pictures in Maui
I can work with you in getting you started with or improving your underwater photography. Whether film or digital. And help you make the move from 'picture taker' to 'image maker'!

| NOTES ON
THESE COURSES: The courses additional costs will be boat dive trips (2
dives conducted on one boat trip each day-tanks and weights included @
$70). Camera rental (Digital or Nikonos camera, lens and strobe) @ $50 p/day.
Film, development and camera/strobe batteries, and any other dive gear
you may need to rent. The 2-day course is a follow up of the 1-day
course. If using a digital camera time will be spent in the 'digital darkroom'.If you're already an underwater
photographer and wanting to improve or have a photographic goal, I offer a seminar
format and the daily rate for the seminar is $130.
If you review the above info you should
see that these courses cover a range from basic beginners to
your learning about the various cameras, lenses; film or digital to shoot just
about any type of imagery you had in mind before signing up. When we
dive or when we class and on what day we use which equipment and what
materials and whether we shoot film or digital can all be adjusted
toward meeting your needs, within certain logistical considerations.
Weather permitting my class sessions are conducted outdoors and are casual and informal. I enjoy my own underwater photography and teaching it. I want my students to enjoy their time learning or improving theirs! Underwater Photography is fun. So it should also be fun and relaxing to learn it or improve it. Email me about any questions you may have.
